Introduced in 1955, instead of the previously converted Indochinese piaster at a rate of 1: 1. It is mainly used as a bargaining unit of the US dollar and Thai baht. Earlier coins of 10, 20 and 50 atot are not involved in circulation due to insignificant cost. On May 5, 1955, the National Bank of Laos announced the replacement of the Indo-Chinese piastre with a new currency - a kip in the ratio of 10: 1. The first banknotes, nominated in bales, appeared in 1957. In total, seven denominations were issued: 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 kip. Issue of a 500 kip note was dedicated to the celebration of the year 2500 on the Buddhist calendar [2]. Circulating coins were not issued. Banknotes with a nominal value of 1-50 kip have two versions: the first ones were printed by the order of the royal government in 1957 by the American Bank Note Company and differed by colored points scattered on paper, the second issue (1, 5, 10 and 50 kip) was commissioned Pathet Lao in 1962 on the printing presses of China and Czechoslovakia already without points [1]. 100 kip banknotes were printed on the Bank of France printing house, and 500 kips in the UK by Thomas de la Rue. In connection with the unauthorized release, organized by Pathet Lao, banknotes with a nominal value of 1-50 kip were officially withdrawn from circulation in 1962. 100 and 500 kip lasted a little longer - until 1974. 1. Degree of protection of the Lao bale - a watermark in the form of a portrait of the founder of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Cayson Fomvikhan. This protective element is visible when examining the banknote against the light and with the obverse, and with the reverse. 2. Degree of protection of the Lao bales is a continuous metallized protective thread, completely immersed in the thickness of the paper. When examining the banknote against the light, the thread is visible in the form of a continuous dark line. On the security thread is placed tsifirnoy designation of the nominal. 3. The degree of protection of the Lao bales is a hidden image, visible when the viewing angle of the banknote changes. 4. Degree of protection of the Lao bale - microtext, which can be read using a magnifying glass. 5. Degree of protection of the Lao bale - a relief print that feels to the touch. 6. Degree of protection of the Lao bale - tactile signs made using gravure printing technology to determine the denomination of a banknote by people with poor eyesight. 7. The degree of protection of the Lao bales is a matching image. This degree of protection is located on both sides of the banknote. On the obverse of the banknote, an image is printed, half of which is filled with one color, while at the same time on the reverse of the banknote the other half of the image is filled with another color. When the banknote is held against the light, the image can be seen completely colored in both colors. 8. Degree of protection of Lao bales is a unique serial number that is printed horizontally on the obverse. 9. Degree of protection of Lao bales - colorless embossing in the form of banknote denomination. Paintless embossing is observed in oblique light and is perceived to the touch. 10. Degree of protection of Lao bale - anti-copy grid - parallel and multidirectional thin lines that are not reproduced on copiers. 11. Degree of protection of the Lao bale - colored protective fibers distributed throughout the surface of the banknote. They are visible to the naked eye when examining the banknote in the UV rays and luminesce with different colors. The Akhas were the bigger producer of opium in Laos and they could earn the small money they needed from the narco-traffickers. In order to fight this illegal commerce, the government relocated most of their villages along the main roads and converted their production to the rattan cane. The Akhas sell it on the market where all ethnic groups of Laos gather to trade. This video casts a suggestive look on the fragmented ethnic composition of Laos and shows how its peoples live nowadays. In Laos, Slush and Burn is a primitive agricultural system still in use to grow the "dry rice". After a few years the plantation need to be moved for the loss of productivity, but at least this method does not involve any chemical fertilizers. In this way, the waters of the rivers are not polluted and are suitable for all daily uses. When the village is to be transferred the Zoema, the chief of the community, finds the new location by interpreting a "special omen": the braking of an egg. Herbs are another very important resource in Laos, both for healing and cooking. As an example, there is one herb that improves sex (although only for men..) while another one named Kalanka stops diarrhea... circolo marlow -- blank zone : http://circolomarlow.blogspot.com E-mail: niccolo4@gmail.com
